9 a.m.: Registration
9:30 a.m: Women & Heart Disease. A lecture by Desert Regional’s CHF Nurse Practitioner Denise Rigney.
10:15 a.m.: Heart-Healthy Cooking Demonstration. Amber Seewald, R.D., and Chef Justin Bailey will demonstrate a heart-healthy recipe you can take home.
10:30 a.m.: How to Recognize the Signs of Stroke. A lecture presented by Ajeet Sodhi, M.D., detailing the case of Dan Dotson, reality TV star.
11:15 a.m.: Heart Healthy Stretch. Take a quick stretch with an exercise you can do right in front of your seat. This short session will be led by Tina Louise Moreno, who is a certified Fit After Fifty Trainer and Respiratory Technician at Desert Regional.
11:30 a.m.: Heart Skip A Beat? Don’t Ignore the Signs of AFIB. Desert Regional’s Dr. Hetal Bhakta will provide an insightful lecture on atrial fibrillation, the most common type of heart rhythm disorder. He’ll discuss warning signs and talk about how to control, and sometimes cure, this disease.
