Emergency Services at Desert Regional Medical Center provide a wide-range of emergency medical care from the treatment of minor and life-threatening illnesses and injuries. For your convenience and peace of mind, Desert Regional Medical Center Emergency Services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Whenever you visit our Emergency Department, we provide a skilled staff of physicians and nurses to care for you who specialize in emergency room medicine.

Desert Regional Medical Center is the Coachella Valley's only designated trauma center. Our Level II Richards Emergency Trauma Center is staffed by dedicated trauma surgeons using some of the most advanced technology available.  

In addition, Hanson House, a facility that provides temporary low- or no-cost housing for families of critically ill or injured patients, is located on the Desert Regional Medical Center Palm Springs' campus. In the news: Hanson House Opens a Home for Families of Critical Patients

The 24-hour Emergency Room provides treatment for life-threatening condition such as:

  • chest pain
  • shortness of breath
  • a sick child under six months of age
  • abdominal pain
  • pregnancy-related conditions
  • vaginal bleeding
  • psychiatric problems
  • changes in vision
  • altered level of consciousness/confusion
